July 18 marks the start date for this year's Gutsy Challenge when students across the country will be eating fruit and vegetables to raise money for Gastro-Intestinal cancer research.

Last year 50,000 pieces of fruit and vegetables were eaten by the Challengers and this year, the GI CANCER Institute is aiming to beat this record by expanding participation to students from high schools and swimming schools too.

The Gutsy Challenge is a schools-based program encouraging students to get sponsored to eat two pieces of fruit and four vegetables each day for a whole week in Term 3, and to raise money for digestive cancer research.
