STATUS is a celebration of life. It is full of hope, bravery, love, humour, pain, laughter, tears and compassion. All the right ingredients to fight stigma head-on!
Containing real life stories of HIV stigma, STATUS is the culmination of interviews with positive men and women, friends, lovers, family, medical professionals and carers.
Over 60 minutes this powerful piece of theatre will explore HIV in 2014, and the stigma faced on a daily basis through HIV disclosure, dating, working and living a healthy well-balanced life. Four actors will guide audiences through this provocative and compassionate play to reignite the discussion around HIV stigma in a modern day society.
Running from 23 - 27 July in the Fairfax Studio at Arts Centre Melbourne, STATUS will feature performers Kath Gordon, Will Conyers, Brigid Gallacher, and Matt Hickey with award-winning director Cameron Menzies (Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, Malthouse, STC) at the helm.
Let's start the discussion…
