More about the movies:

Elf (G)

Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa's sack and ended up at the North Pole to be raised by elves. Later, as an adult human (played by Will Ferrell), Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan). Hobbs, on Santa's naughty list for being pretty heartless, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter's relationship with Buddy interferes with his job, he is forced to re-evaluate his priorities.

Monty Python's Life of Brian (M)

Monty Python's Life of Brian tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Graham Chapman), a young Jewish man who is born on the same day as, and next door to, Jesus Christ, and is subsequently mistaken for the Messiah. The film contains themes of religious satire which were controversial at the time of its release (1979). The film makers used such notoriety to benefit their marketing campaign with posters stating "So funny it was banned in Norway!". The film was a box-office success, grossing fourth-highest of any film in the UK and highest of any British film in the United States that year. It has remained popular ever since, named 'Greatest comedy film of all time' by several magazines and television networks.

A bit about 'Arthur Christmas' (G)

Arthur Christmas reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child's question: 'So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?' The answer: Santa's exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole.  At the centre of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns

A bit about 'The Santa Clause' (G)

Divorced toy company executive Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) is pleased to have his son Charlie for Christmas, even though Charlie isn't too happy about it. But when Santa Claus accidentally topples off the roof of the house, Scott finds himself taking the merry old elf's place. When the night ends, the reindeer take them to the north pole, and Scott discovers that by donning the fabled red suit, he's inadvertently agreed to become the next Santa Claus. The next morning he wakes up in his own bed and thinks it's all a dream ... only Charlie remembers it with crystal clarity. Scott now has to deal with his suspicious ex-wife and her psychiatrist boyfriend, who both think he's playing tricks with Charlie's mind, and also with his own out-of-control body, which is putting on weight and growing a prodigious beard!
