The flavours, colours and characters of Southern Queensland Country are headed for Brisbane next month, as part of the region's Autumn Campaign which features new getaway packages and a Country Takeover of the Eat Street Markets.
Over Friday April 17 and Saturday April 18, Brisbane's famous Eat Street Markets at Hamilton will become a showcase of Southern Queensland Country in Autumn – celebrating the flavours of this rich region with cooking demonstrations, farmgate stalls, beautifully themed walkways, wine tastings and more, starring the artisans, producers and growers who make it happen. Joining the Southern Queensland Country team will be leading chef Miguel Maestre; a huge fan of the produce of the region, he will give cooking classes and create culinary magic with local flavours. Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQCT) has also unveiled a range of Autumn getaways, including unique Breathe Breaks, and Food and Wine Trail experiences.
Southern Queensland Country at Eat Street Markets forms part of the overall Autumn campaign, developed in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland; the largest ever undertaken by SQCT. In addition to the Eat Street Market takeover, the campaign includes TV, outdoor, digital, print and social media executions as well as a partnership with the Brisbane-based lifestyle journal The Good Guide, and of course the getaway experiences.
Just two hours from Brisbane, and with direct air links to southern cities, Southern Queensland Country offers a canvas of country escapes, from Toowoomba and the Darling Downs through the South Burnett to the Granite Belt and Southern Downs, Warwick and the Western Country.
