The Shorts@falls short film competition has an industry sponsored prize pool valued at over $90,000 awarded by an independent jury and includes Best Director, Best Script and Special Jury recognition and new for 2009, craft awards for sound and cinematography.

filmfest@falls spans the queens birthday weekend and celebrates the opening of ski season, 5-7 June 2009, in Falls Creek, with an après ski opening night event, followed by two days of short films, new and revisited features, screening programs, live script reads, and closing with the sixth annual snow dome awards.
