Seafolly Set To Sizzle This Summer

Australia's most successful fashion swimwear company, Seafolly, is set to sizzle throughout Summer as it leads the world in swimwear trends with the release of its 2004/5 range.

"This year's range is our most exciting yet, and the response from Australian retailers has been overwhelming," said Anthony Halas, Managing Director, Seafolly.

From sexy, skin baring cutaway one-pieces to Brazilian briefs, 1980s style bandeaus and tied or belted hipsters, this year's stunning first Summer collection includes 10 Separates and 6 fashion stories featuring over 320 different styles and 30 core shapes - a perfect fit for every body. A strong emphasis is also placed on outerwear and accessories.

Set on the picturesque Bedarra Island, located off the tropical North Queensland coast, this year's eagerly anticipated 2004/5 catalogue highlights these key trends. Seafolly has secured top international model and star of the recent Victoria's Secret Parade, Deanna Miller of Next Modelling Agency in New York and Chic Modelling Agency in Australia to be the face of Seafolly 2004/5.

"Deanna's stunning natural beauty and zest for life encapsulates the spirit of the Seafolly style, which now represents women not only Australia-wide, but women all over the world," said Anthony concluded.

Seafolly continues to be a trendsetter in the world of swimwear fashion, and with the 2004/5 collection, delivers ground breaking styles in both the Separates and fashion range.

"We are constantly scouring the globe, researching the latest colour, fabric and print trends and translating them to fashionable, wearable swimwear. In this sense, we really lead the world in swimwear design," said Genelle Walkom, Seafolly's Head Designer for over 20 years.

Seafolly has the most comprehensive range of Separates stories on the market and attributes this as a key element in the success of the brand. "With Seafolly Separates, our consumers can mix and match different shapes and sizes to and create their own style and perfect fit," Genelle commented.

This year Seafolly also features a greater emphasis on outerwear and lifestyle dressing. "Outerwear has really grown as a category," Genelle said. "Now it's more about fashion pieces which can be worn from the beach to the café and in general everyday life."

This season's key trends include:
  • Sexy retro styling from the '70s, and '80s with mini tubes, low riding hipsters, wide 70s halters, ruching and hipster boylegs.
  • Green is the key colour for summer with shades including cactus, emerald, khaki and mint. The combination of bright and dark colour blocks is key with new cactus green teamed with khaki and turquoise or flamingo pink with jaffa, pale pink and dark chocolate.
  • Prints catering to every taste - from oversized hawaiian prints to funky '50s styled spots and florals, as well as Pucci inspired prints and tribal inspired polka dots in geometric patterns. One pattern causing massive sensations with Australian buyers is the vintage vacation postcard print.
  • Stylish trims of all descriptions adorn Seafolly's fashion pieces and Separates. From large to small, metallic style to raffia, bejewelled, square and round, on belts, straps and hiplines.
  • Outerwear and lifestyle dressing features prominently in the range, and includes shorts, skirts, and beach pants. These feature alongside kaftans, wrap sarong skirts and 50's style sundresses.
  • Accessories range from sophisticated messenger/delivery inspired bags to sandals with leather and suede as the key fabrication, to fun sun hats and beach towels.
