Sydney Olympic Park has come up with an exciting range of school holiday activities for the 48th Kids in the Park program that's full of fun! Kids in the Park has many free activities and value-packed boredom-busters to stimulate all ages and help relieve some of the financial strains of school holidays on families. A recent study by finder.com.au found the keeping the kids entertained over the school holidays is costing Australian families on average, almost $6001.
The Kids in the Park program, from 9 – 25 April, 2016 (inclusive) has 70 school holiday activities, including 14 free and 16 good-value options at less than $25 per person. New activities that will delight and surprise the kids without breaking the bank include Park Patrol - Camouflage where participants can discover some surprising residents of Bicentennial Park and take home a spider fact sheet for as little as $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling.
Footy fanatics can meet the GWS Giants at the Giants AFL Clinic, watch them train, get their autographs and have a photo with them as well as perfecting their passes in a two hour clinic for $10 per child. The more adventurous members of the family might like to try the NEW Archery Beginners' Program. This is an introduction to a skill that will challenge and delight.
For those kids who are literary-minded, The Writing Workshop, run by award-winning author, Dr Bernard Cohen, has a range of fun and educational events including the NEW Rhetoric and Persuasion which will help young writers develop their writing skills within an imaginative context, Secrets of Poetry which will encourage kids aged 9-14 to take their poetry to a new level and Stories of Future Inventions which is a creative writing workshop for 6-9 year olds which will provide a forum for children to write stories about devices that go whirr, clunk and ouch.
From pen to paint, ARTEXPRESS can amuse the young creatives for hours with FREE daily-entry to ARTEXPRESS at the Armory 2016 as well as FREE Kids in the Park Workshops at the Armory Gallery on 11and 18 April
Other favourites from previous school holiday periods that are returning to Kids in the Park these holidays include: Cookies and Craft, a Digital Film-making Workshop, Lego Robotics, Laser Tag, the Mega Circus Mix, Monster Activities at Monster Park, just to name a few!
