Sarah Leete Used

Sarah Leete Used

Following on from the success of her previous singles and first new tunes in over 3 years 'One That Got Away' and 'Nothin' Special' (which debuted at #3 on the iTunes Country Singles chart, racking up 150k streams), Sarah Leete today returns with her first single for 2022 with the release of 'Used'.

Produced by Michael Muchow (Melody Moko, Catherine Britt) at The Moon Room in Brisbane, 'Used' shows us a rockier side of Leete that we have not yet seen, with her songwriting remaining front and centre taking us right into the moment where the penny drops, and she is left scratching her head.

"Used is the song that takes you into where it was written, after an interaction with someone that has left you feeling blindsided and a bit icky. I have had this feeling a good handful of times in my life, be it relationships, friendships or professionally, and I dare say others can relate" she says.

Whilst Leete isn't giving too much away on the exact circumstances, you can almost feel her confusion in the resolve "Can't help but get the feeling I was Used".

"I love the feel of this track, it really pays homage to the songs I was listening to on the radio growing up, and I love that I can add my own story to that." Leete says.

Growing up on the Central Coast of NSW, Leete now calls the small country town of Baan Baa in the Narrabri Shire home. At the age of 13, she started teaching herself to write songs and play guitar, drawing inspiration from her childhood heroes Cat Stevens, Michelle Branch, and Patty Griffin.

A Cole Clarke Guitar endorsed musician, CMAA scholarship graduate, and perhaps the owner of the largest cactus garden out of any Australian country music musician, Leete is an artist that Catherine Britt has described as having "strength and grit in her voice and song writing that stands above the rest".

A regular fixture on the Tamworth Country Music Festival and Gympie Music Muster, Leete has also opened for Fanny Lumsden and Bill Chambers (amongst others) and will be returning to the stage for a string of headline shows across NSW, as well as opening for Viper Creek Band.  You can catch Sarah Leete on the below dates:
