Sam Wood Health is Wealth Interview

Finvest presents the sixth Health is Wealth this coming September 10 at Greenfields in Albert Park with keynote guest speaker Sam Wood joining the day. The event presents activities over the day that look at the seven dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, occupational and social. Presenters and guest speakers will present workshops and discussions covering each of these dimensions in a fun, action packed day promising to kick start each participants week.

'We wanted to create an event that would get people moving and grooving on a Sunday". Said Lisa Harris, Director, Finvest. 'With that in mind, we built an event series that works towards creating balance in the participants environment. We are thrilled to announce Sam Wood will be joining us as he shares his journey thus far in business, health and wellbeing".

Eight workshops will run between 10am and 2.30pm covering yoga, intellectual wellness and neuroplasticity of the brain that looks at how we can reprogram our brains in relation to exercise. There will be dance workshops with a Samba demonstration whilst the occupational wellness dimension will look at how we balance our work and play life. Finally, Sam Wood will present his business journey from launching Gecko Gyms in Tasmania, to turning it into a national franchise before selling that and launching the Woodshed and 28 by Sam Wood.

Interview with Sam Wood

Question: You're the key note speaker for Health is Wealth this coming September, how does it feel to have the opportunity to share your experiences so far in the health and fitness industry? Can you tell us a bit about the event?

Sam Wood: I'm really excited to be the keynote speaker for Health is Wealth to talk about my personal experiences in the health and fitness industry. The event is all about the 7 dimensions of health and wellbeing and this is something I'm really passionate about. When I launched Gecko Sports I was excited to be getting kids onto a fit and healthy path for life. When I look back on that experience I can see that launching, growing and eventually selling that business was just the beginning of turning my passion for helping others into a full-time career. I'm looking forward to sharing that story with the participants at Health is Wealth.

Question: Can you tell us a bit about 28 by Sam Wood and how it ties in with Health is Wealth?

Sam Wood: Having launched 28 by Sam Wood in February of 2016 and witnessing its incredible growth in such a short period of time, I know that people are craving information about their own health and wellbeing across all pillars of health. More and more people are looking for flexible exercise that works in with a busy lifestyle and this has undoubtedly contributed to the success of my 28 program. This is why I was excited to be invited to be key note speaker at Health is Wealth as the events values sit closely with my own.

Question: Why do you think there is a growth in the popularity of events like Health is Wealth?

Sam Wood: There are thousands of people doing my 28 program who are looking for that change to get them on the right path to happier and healthier versions of themselves. Events like Health is Wealth are so important for the community as not only does it bring people together for a common cause but it might also give someone an experience they have never had before, which might just be the door they need opened to transform their lives for health and wellbeing in all areas.
