Salon Entrepreneur Of The Year
Phillip Galbraith and Shane Henning Of Noddys On King Presented with Prestigious Salon Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards At The Global Salon Business Awards

Despite a tough business climate that seems to heat up one minute and cool off the next, the professional hairdressing industry has remained the one lucrative constant, pulling in record revenues of over $135 billion annually on a worldwide basis. Entrepreneurial hairdressing salon owners like Phillip Galbraith and Shane Henning from Sydney, Australia, owners of Noddys on King, are one of the reasons why. Noddys On King was presented with a prominent recognition award for outstanding entrepreneurial achievement at an international business forum and awards conference held in London in June 2004. Presented with the prestigious Salon Entrepreneur of the Year trophy and certificate of world achievement, leading companies, including L'Oreal, Redken, Matrix, Takara Belmont, Wella, Schwarzkopf and Aveda along with international trade press, were on hand as Galbraith and Henning were acknowledged for their entrepreneurial business achievements.

The award judging was administrated by the UCLA Anderson School of Management, Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Senior Associate Dean, Dr. Alfred E. Osborne, Jr. stated, "Our goal was to design a process that yielded objective judgment of the most successful entrepreneurs from over 20 countries, and I believe that the system we created more than accomplished that objective." Over 3200 hairdressing salons and spas were nominated for entry on a global basis. The judging panel included academicians, leading business experts, international trade media and hairdressing industry leaders representing eight countries. They gathered at the UCLA campus in March and made their selections from the top 300 entries.

Phillip Galbraith and Shane Henning of Noddys On King of Sydney have been named SALON ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR™ in Australia. Recognised for demonstrating outstanding performance in all five areas of judging criteria, they were chosen as the recipient of this prestigious award based on their exceptional accomplishments in Entrepreneurial Spirit, Team, and Client Philosophy, Marketing and Promotional Programs and Financial Productivity. Galbraith and Henning clearly demonstrates a host of unique and personalised services along with extraordinary career development opportunities for their salon team members, resulting in a highly successful, profitable business. It is clear that Galbraith and Henning have developed an outstanding entrepreneurial organisation deserving the distinction of Salon Entrepreneur of the Year.

In addition to shining a spotlight on the world's top salon entrepreneurs, the four-day event also featured a business forum that offered advanced education and networking opportunities for the delegates. Among the highlights: World-class business building sessions with Tom Peters, who shared insights about the business excellence in a disruptive age; Royal Family and celebrity photographer, Lord Patrich Lichfield, spoke of the importance of photographic imagery; and Regis Corporation President and CEO, Paul Finkelstein, discussed brand development and global growth. Celebrity events included an exclusive Winner Reception at the Houses of Parliament. A Dessert Reception at The Design Museum, a private cruise on the River Thames and the gala awards banquet that was held at the London Hilton.
