Approach 2019 with a fresh, clear and truly healthy mindset; rethink your morning routine and breakfast with Sally Obermeder.
Question: Do you have a morning routine; can you share it with us?
Sally Obermeder: There is no typical day! But in general my weekday would run along the lines of…
An early start to get ready for the day and make sure that Annabelle has all she needs for school before Elyssa wakes. If I can, I'll squeeze in a 15 or 20 minute run while they're both asleep. Getting my kids ready, getting myself ready – all while ensuring I'm getting a few lunges in, some cardio and a healthy breakfast. A morning smoothie jam packed with as many fruit and veggies as my heart desires helps to manage the chaos.
Question: How do you ensure you're always eating a healthy breakfast?
Sally Obermeder: Since starting SWIISH in 2015, my day starts with a scoop of my Super Green Superfood Powder to kickstart my body, energise me for the day ahead and get my system functioning at 100%. The blend of 40 veggies, fruits, superfoods, pre and probiotics gives me energy, helps to cleanse my digestive system and ensures my body has what is needs to tackle the demands of the day. To keep things interesting, I mix up my morning smoothie every day with added fruit and veggies that I add to my Sunbeam High Performance Power Blender. Breakfast is no longer a chore; it's exciting for me to experiment with new flavour combinations every morning!
Question: How do you make your coffee?
Sally Obermeder: Ever since I introduced the Sunbeam Barista Max Espresso Machine into my kitchen, my morning coffees have seriously been stylish. In three easy steps, I have all I need to create delicious café-style coffee. It starts with grinding my fresh coffee beans using the Tap&Go integrated grinder, and then using the Temp IQ Shot Control it's sets me up for the perfect coffee extraction. For a frothy latte, the steam wand creates velvety milk, providing me with café-style coffee.
Question: Which smoothie are you making most often, currently? Can you share the recipe?
Sally Obermeder: As summer season has arrived, my tastiest smoothie recipe I can't get enough of at the moment has been the Pretty In Pink: 2 cups frozen strawberries 1 cup frozen cherries 1/2 cup baby spinach 1/2 frozen banana 1/4 cup coconut milk 1/2 cup yoghurt Using the dedicated smoothie function in my Sunbeam High Performance Power Blender, I blend until smooth for the smoothest smoothie.
