With over 2000 attendees last year, Romp & Stomp Fun Day for Children is a day of fun filled activities designed for children aged 0–5. Activities on the day are both fun and educational, and include performances, activities, special appearances and storytelling. The day also provides the opportunity for parents and carers to access information about early childhood services and networks.
Romp & Stomp Fun Day for Children is presented by Melbourne Museum in partnership with a group of not-for-profit organisations interested in early childhood education, including Early Childhood Management Services, Playgroup Victoria, Kindergarten Parents Victoria, Berry Street, Gowrie Victoria, Toy Libraries Victoria, MFB (Metropolitan Fire Brigade), VicRoads and Kidsafe.
Since beginning in 2003, Romp & Stomp Fun Day for Children has proven to be one of the most popular Children's Week events for parents, carers, children and grandparents. It is celebrated on Universal Children's Day, with activities designed to emphasise different aspects of early childhood learning.
