Just be Happy; Rihanna & Julie Robets
Chart Topping R&B Pop Sensation Rihanna and Sizzling Country Singer Julie Roberts Record Interpretations of Superstar Songwriter Ne-Yo's "Just Be Happy"

Fans of the best selling CLINIQUE HAPPY can download the latest hit from platinum pop Rihanna and gold certified country sensation Julie Roberts first when Clinique launches www.getyourhappy.com.au in November. Titled "Just be Happy", this smash hit was composed by gold and platinum selling singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and is set to hit radio airwaves worldwide in December. Visitors to the "Get Your Happy" website should also look out for complimentary MP3 and ring-tone downloads of the song, video clips from the recording session, special interactive experiences and a unique gift-with-purchase opportunity that will invite customers who purchase CLINIQUE HAPPY to download five singles of their choice.

Music has been a key element of CLINIQUE HAPPY's brand persona since its launch in 1997. Several well-loved "happy" songs - including "C'mon Get Happy" performed by Judy Garland, The Turtles' "Happy Together" and "Make Someone Happy" sung by Jimmy Durante - have been associated with the fragrance. This year, however, brings something completely new.

"Fragrance is personal and emotional and so is music," notes Lynne Greene, Global President, Clinique. "Different genres of music make people happy. Even though these are two very different performers who give the song their own personal interpretation, the feelings they evoke are universal. Each version of the song is fresh, exuberant and spirited-just like CLINIQUE HAPPY. We wanted to commission a new song to keep the tradition of music in CLINIQUE HAPPY. We chose Ne-Yo because he is the hottest songwriter in the business today, as well as an incredibly sensitive and talented musician. Rihanna gives "Just Be Happy" a soulful, young R&B twist, while Julie Roberts makes it her own with a blues-y, country spin."

Island Def Jam Records Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Development, Jeff Straughn, commented "Clinique and Island Def Jam built this promotion together. The idea of connecting people to a feeling through music and fragrance meant using talent to strike at the heart. So it was natural to have Ne-Yo compose and Rihanna sing. The result is strong and optimistic. A brand like Clinique, known all over the world, deserves internationally recognised stars. It's just a great fit all around."

Luke Lewis, Universal Music Group Nashville Chairman added, "Julie's appeal is huge and her talent and beauty will represent Clinique perfectly. We are thrilled to be a part of this ground-breaking music and beauty campaign."

In My Own Words, Ne-Yo's first album from Def Jam Recordings, has just been certified platinum by the RIAA. It includes the smash Number One hit "So Sick", along with "Stay" and "When You're Mad," songs that showcase the artist's nuanced vocals and ability to express a dynamic range of emotions. He has quickly gained a reputation as one of the world's most passionate and articulate R&B lyricists. Responsible for such hits as "Let Me Love You" (co-written with Scott Storch and Kam Houf and performed by Mario), he has composed for multi-platinum artists including Rihanna, Mary J. Blige and Beyonce. In addition to penning the "Just Be Happy" song, Ne-Yo also produced Rihanna's version.

At 18 years old, Barbados native Rihanna is a breakout young artist whose voice, beauty and attitude are a perfect fit for CLINIQUE HAPPY. Her 2005 gold selling debut album, Music of the Sun from Def Jam Recordings, gave rise to her first hit, "Pon de Replay," and led to tour dates with Gwen Stefani and a film role in the upcoming "Bring It On: All or Nothing." Her latest album, the platinum, A Girl Like Me, features "S.O.S.," a hypnotic dance tune spiced with samples from the 80s Soft Cell dance classic "Tainted Love." It hit Number One on a host of Billboard charts, including Hot 100, Pop 100 and Hot Digital Songs, among others. Her follow-up, the compelling ballad "Unfaithful," is right behind it.

With her blues-soaked voice able to convey emotions from heartache to heart-stopping happiness, Julie Roberts has quickly become country music's Cinderella. A favorite of fans and fickle critics alike, she released her self-titled debut album on Mercury Records in 2004. It promptly went gold and led to many country music honors, thanks to songs like "Break Down Here," "Wake Up Older" and "The Chance." She was also asked to record "Good To Go," the new theme song for Good Morning America. Her second album, Men & Mascara, was released by Mercury in June and has already produced a hit - the evocative title song - while also featuring four compelling tunes co-written by Roberts. Famed country producer James Stroud (Toby Keith, Tim McGraw) produced Julie's rendition of "Just Be Happy."

CLINIQUE HAPPY is a chic, modern, multi-layered floral that begins with a sparkling, lingering top note composed with vibrant citrus notes like Ruby Red Grapefruit and Bergamot with a cool, petaly floral nuance from West Indian Mandarin Tree Blossom and High Altitude Mountain Laurel, and continues with an exotic middle note that blends Boysenberry Bush Flower, Morning Dew Orchid and Melati Blossom. It finishes with a tropical, sensual drydown of Hawaiian Wedding Flower, White Crinium Lily, Chinese Golden Magnolia and Spring Mimosa Blossoms. Wear it and be Happy.
