The week aims to increase awareness among all Victorians to take a balanced approach to their gambling and to stay in control.

Gambling is accepted as a characteristic feature of Australian life. It has been claimed that it is an element of our easy-going, egalitarian character, however no culture has been found to be free of some form of gambling. Today, more than 73.07% of Victorians report that they have a flutter at some time each year.
