Red Bull Dinghy Derby

A spectacle of speed, spray and horse power will return to the Murray River this weekend, 6th- 7th February, as Australia's best dinghy drivers hit the water for the 2016 Red Bull Dinghy Derby. Now in its 36th year, the action-packed river race will see souped-up dinghies from across the country carve through the 90km+ course, trailing through the Murray and surrounding creeks in Renmark.

Adelaideans were given a glimpse into the thrills, spills and high-octane action to expect on the big day, as local competitors ripped through Adelaide's River Torrens in a warm-up event earlier this month. But now it's time for the real deal, with competitors ready to rev their engines and dodge nature's obstacles to win the coveted title.

This year's race is set to be fiercer than ever, with reigning champions Kyle and Ryleigh Pfitzner returning to defend their title, alongside over 85 other daring competitors. A big event for locals and visitors alike, spectators are invited to join in on the action and enjoy this great day out along Australia's most famous river.
