Fearless drivers and automotive daredevils assemble! The hilarious, globally-renowned Red Bull Billy Cart is coming to Sydney's Centennial Parklands on Sunday, 15 November, 2015.
Red Bull Billy Cart is a unique non-motorised race, which invites both experienced drivers and amateurs alike to design and build their dream machine, before completion against the clock in a downhill race littered with obstacles and bends. With plenty of smooth, rolling hills and bends to form the ideal racetrack, Centennial Parklands is the perfect location for the 2015 Red Bull Billy Cart event. On 15 November, Sydney's most iconic public parklands will play host to tens of thousands of spectators, who will line the fences in anticipation for the event's biggest thrills and spills.
With vehicles ranging from realistic replicas to anything the imagination can conjure up, previous designs have included a piano, giant baby carriage, massive corn on the cob and the Golden Gate Bridge. Each handmade machine is fuelled by nothing but sheer determination and the force of gravity with entrants judged on three criteria – Creativity, Performance, and Speed. You need to be fast and have a bit of sparkle! At the end of the race, the team with the highest total score takes out the top spot and the prize of a money-can't-buy Red Bull experience.
The search is already on to find the most creative speed demons from all states, to battle it out in November and take the glory as the Australian Red Bull Billy Cart champion. Team who want to apply should head to www.redbullbillycart.com.au and request an application kit. Entry is free and must be postmarked by 17 July, 2015. Successful teams will be notified by 31 July, 2015.
