The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) performs in the newly restored Brisbane City Hall at 7pm on Monday 8th of April, exactly 83 years after the building's official opening in 1930.
The QSO last performed in the Brisbane City Hall in 2009 before the venue closed in January of 2010 for repair works, restoration and upgrades. Now the QSO brings this acoustically vibrant venue to life with distinguished conductor Nicholas Braithwaite.
The Orchestra will perform music from nostalgic and British orchestral delights such as Elgar's Salut d'amour and The Kingdom and Delius' Summer Evening. Other highlights in this concert include Butterworth's A Shropshire Lad and Harrison's On Bredon Hill featuring QSO's Concertmaster, Warwick Adeney.
