Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the release of the sensational title ModNation Racers™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3™) and PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable)- it's going to be the most fun you've had racing since you were a kid. It's a new type of karting game - one that puts you in the designer's seat as well as the driver's seat and lets your creativity run as wild as your speed and your steering. As well as driving and racing with your pals around the fun and furious tracks out there, you get to create your own racetracks, characters and karts as far as your imagination will let you and then invite the rest of the world over for a race on what you've made. ModNation Racers is wild, quirky, stylish and downright fun!

ModNation Racers is your own personal playground where you can build your very own racing experience with the simple tools provided. First, you create your own racer - your Mod - from thousands of different options. Choose a face, eyes, and hair - will you have a rough and tough Mod to intimidate the opposition or an edgy character who'll wreak havoc on the track with crazy manoeuvres? Get creative and select clothes, body art, helmets, jewellery, masks and whatever else you like to make your character unique. Next, repeat the above to create a groovy kart: you can make anything from a sleek, sporty number to an anarchic banger covered in graffiti - express yourself! Then, make tracks - just like that. It's so easy that you can make one in a few minutes. Just drive your Mod around the blank backdrop (think of it as your canvas), choosing your own scenery or allow the game to fill in the trees, mountains, houses and other details as you roll along. You can 'remix' your track with new props, weapon pickups and obstacles, to bring entertainment, chaos or destruction. Invite friends to race on it or share the fun by uploading your track to PlayStation Network for the world to play.

If you're not feeling creative today and just want to race, don't worry - you can instantly enjoy the thrills and spills of the race, with over 25 pre-made tracks to race straight out of the box, as well as a huge number of other people's tracks to download from PlayStation®Network. In fact, however you want to play ModNation Racers - at home via PS3, on the move with PSP, alone or with friends for a simple fix of competition and speed, or with a mind to creating a racing masterpiece of your own to share or show off to your friends, you're going to be spoiled for choice.
