The hit show PilatesTV™, created by health and fitness expert Kylie Jaye, has released a DVD designed specifically for todays desk dwellers! New Desk Bound Pilates provides specific exercise tips for to strengthen back, loosen shoulders and reduce physio bills!

Australians lead a more sedentary life than ever before and work longer hours than ever before - often sitting in front of a computer for over eight hours a day. Some hardly get up for lunch let alone some exercise. No wonder most desk bound workers suffer from back and shoulder pain.

Desk Bound contains five days of exercise classes to assist with keeping the body as pain free and flexible as possible. Exercises are focused on the upper back and neck, posture and movement. They include exercises that can be undertaken at home, in the office and even sitting in your chair, at work, home, on the plane, train or bus! Twenty minutes a day is all it takes for a more relaxed back, shoulders and a healthier outlook on life!

The classes consist of the following areas:

  • Neck & Shoulder
  • Seated pilates for your chair
  • Energising. Strength & Control
  • Strong & Short, Long & Weak Breathing
  • Movement, Co- ordination and Corset.

The DVD also contains bonus Fast & Fabulous recipes and tips from Kylie Jaye to help optimize health and wellbeing. They include:
  • Energise - how to make lemon scrub to energise your system (with oil / washer)
  • Low GI foods - sustained energy. Recipe - barley salad with pumpkin
  • Instant energy - low GI recipe - hummus (beetroot and normal hummus)
  • Self sports stress relieving massage for legs & arms, demo by SALT Clinic
  • Fuel - lean, mean, alert machine recipe - grilled tuna with rocket salad

Pilates consists of a series of exercises and movements with an emphasis on the core muscles - abdomen, back and buttocks (sometimes referred to as the "powerhouse").

The Pilates method conditions the body through exercises which focus on breathing and proper alignment. This in turn engages the mind improving concentration and overall body tone. No muscle group is overworked and the body works as an efficient, holistic system in sport and every day activity.

Kylie Jaye, series producer: "Pilates is great for people in all walks of life and all levels of fitness and mobility. Its not just exercise; its a holistic approach to getting your body and mind into shape."

Getting into shape is relatively easy if youre mobile and live in an area that has gyms and fitness studios, but thousands of Australians live in rural areas - there isnt a shop for miles, let alone a fitness studio!

Each DVD includes a weeks worth of 30 minute classes and bonus Fast & Fabulous beauty treats, recipes for eating healthily, tips for feeling great, physically and mentally, self-massage lesson, aromatherapy and much more. In total there are 65 tips to choose from: health, diet, weight-loss, sleep, mens fitness, pregnancy, injuries and more PLUS loads of recipes.

Kylie Jaye: "With busy lives, crazy careers and family commitments you tend to put yourself last in line for TLC. I know, because I do it. The Fast & Fabulous mini-features are great for people who dont have the time for copious appointments or fussy regimes".

"The FAST & FABULOUS segments are not just a way to show viewers how to care for their own health and wellbeing, but how to invest in yourself - inside and out. Feeling great is not just about medical health but also about looking at yourself and liking what you see!"
