Be part of an intimate group of like-minded foodies for a week in what is one of the most well-renowned gastronomic pockets of Northern Italy, Piemonte. What better time of year to explore this unique region than the world famous white truffle and mushroom season, indulging in exquisite dishes such as egg ravioli with grated truffle and fresh mushroom risotto, and witnessing the action of a truffle hunt first hand!

Immerge yourself in the culture, meet locals and experience amazing food and wine while taking in the picturesque scenery of rolling vineyards, medieval villages and castles led by passionate guides with over 30 years of combined Food, Wine and Culinary Tour experience.

Owner of cooking school Kitchen Jazz, Mara Zalums has been conducting cooking classes for over 12 years and hosting culinary tours in Australia, Morocco, Italy, France and New Zealand for over six years. Her zest for life, love for food and adventurous nature makes these tours truly unique.

The tours are complimented by the addition of her husband Rob, owner of Global Fine Wines, who adds a lifetime of wine knowledge and industry relationships to the itinerary. Rob introduces and explains many of the local wines including Barolo and Barbaresco - regarded as some of the finest in the world by any standards as well as coordinating visits to local family operated wineries.

Piemonte Truffle Season Tour – Itinerary
Monday 9 Nov – Monday 16 Nov (7 nights/8 days)

Day 1:
Shuttle from Milan to La Morra from bustling city to rich and fertile orchards and vineyards. Wine tasting followed by dinner in one of Mara's favourite ristorantes in a neighbouring village.

Day 2:
Winery visit followed by a hands-on cooking class held by a renowned chef set in his restaurant where we dine with panoramic views. Free afternoon/ evening.

Day 3:
Day tour exploring historic villages, castles, breathtaking views and the famous town of Barolo. Dinner in a restaurant in a neighbouring village.

Day 4:
A visit to Alba markets is followed by a wine tasting and lunch at a prestigious winery in Treiso. A stunning drive back to La Morra through vineyards. Free evening.

Day 5:
Free day of leisure. You may wish to paint, scooter, hike, or explore Alba with its grand promenade of designer shops, galleries, cathedral and museums or just sit in a café with gelato, espresso and a good book. Multi course dinner in a Michelin star restaurant overlooking spectacular views.

Day 6:

Visit the famous site of the Annual White Truffle Auction at Grinzane Cavour Castle followed by a visit to the prestigious Truffle Fair in Alba and a private Truffle Hunt in the woods. Dinner in a restaurant in the Alba region.

Day 7:
Day tour to the capital city of Piemonte - Turin. Home of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture, museums, galleries, palace, piazzas and gardens. Oh… and great food! Finish the day with a Piemontese supper.

Day 8:
Return shuttle to Milan Airport. (And then if you wish, travel further to Lake Como, Genova and Cinque Terre, Rome, Florence, Venice)
