Squeals of delight will be heard across the Docklands precinct on Saturday, March 21, with the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel set to welcome much loved children's character Peppa Pig to the attraction.
On hand to greet guests heading to the boarding deck to take their Melbourne Star flight, Peppa Pig will be available for cuddles and photos from 12-12:30pm, 1-1:30pm and 2-2:30pm.
Free balloon sculptures and face painting will also be available to children taking a flight between 12-3pm.
One lucky guest and seven of their family and friends will also have the chance to see a pig fly, joining Peppa Pig herself on a Melbourne Star flight later in the afternoon. Guests are able to register their details online at http://a.pgtb.me/Ww8g3b, with Melbourne Star guests who have taken a flight during the period of February 27 – March, 16, 2015, eligible for a bonus entry when they enter their ticket barcode, on the competition entry form.
Melbourne Star CEO, Chris Kelly, said the attraction is looking forward to welcoming a superstar like Peppa Pig to the Melbourne Star.
'We may not have muddy puddles for Peppa Pig to splash in, however we think, like most children, she will love taking a flight on the Star and spotting the various sights of Melbourne," Mr Kelly said.
'We know the children who come down will be very excited to meet Peppa Pig and we can't wait to hear what she thinks of her experience on the Star." he said.
Peppa Pig will be the second famous children's character to visit the attraction in recent weeks, with Hello Kitty greeting guests on Saturday, February 21 .
The Melbourne Star is open daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm, with last admission at 9.30pm. The Melbourne Star is the first, more complex, solid steel wheel design to be built in the world to this size.
