Open Day at the German International School Sydney

Upon entering the grounds of the only recognised German School Abroad which offers a complete multi-lingual school education system from Preschool to Year 12, guests will be pleasantly surprised to learn that no prior knowledge of the German language affords students of any age to begin a schooling career at the German International School Sydney (GISS).  The Open Day itself will provide a snapshot into the uniquely multicultural and nurturing environment this 25 year old co-educational institution operates within.  The Open Day provides the opportunity for prospective families to meet staff, tour the grounds, discover the exciting extra-curricular activities available, and learn more about the integrated multi-lingual educational programs on offer at the German International School Sydney.

For Years 11 & 12, GISS offers the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, which utilises students' critical thinking and independent learning alongside language focused teaching which has enabled an outstanding 35.6 average mark (out of possible 45) equating to an equivalent average ATAR of 94.3.  The GISS language immersion programme in English and German is accompanied by the option of dedicated accomplished French and Spanish programs.  Guests will discover the difference smaller class sizes (24 pupils on average) have on the individual, and the importance of integrated authentic language scenarios that increase language proficiency and student confidence.
