If you are looking for somewhere special to take the whole family for New Year's Eve, the biggest lights display in the Southern Hemisphere will tick every box. Hunter Valley Gardens has over 1.5 million lights on show winding through 20 acres of beautiful landscape. Of course, no celebration is complete without a fireworks display, which this year will light up the gardens at 9pm.
The kids will be busy with amusement rides including a Bungy, Mini Coaster and giant Ferris Wheel, as well as energetic entertainers -The Little Scallywagz' performing two upbeat shows at 7pm & 8pm. A variety of food and beverage will be on offer, as well as chocolate fountains and frappes, fairy floss and ice-cream to carry on the indulgences of the festive season.
The big kids are also able to play! Indie-rock folklore band Evermore will be taking the stage at Harrigan's Irish Pub & Accommodation, conveniently only a stone throw away from the gardens. The New Zealand brothers have continued to capture the nation since their debut album Dreams in 2004, with anthems of youth, love and lament. If you are a U2, Beatles and Simple Minds Fan, you will be sure to appreciate this musical talent, as well as tunes from support band AGT & Brendan Murphy.
Gates will open from 6.30pm on 31st December 2013, with pre-lights entertainment and food stalls. The lights display will commence at 7.30pm, and fireworks display at 9pm. To find out more about New Year's Eve at Hunter Valley Gardens please visit www.hvg.com.au or call 02 4998 4000.
