Struggle to get the kids off the couch during the school holidays? Wondering what you will do on rainy days? Why not explore the diverse range of school holiday camps run by NSW Sport and Recreation.

Minister for Sport and Recreation Stuart Ayres said the camps were located at 11 scenic sites across NSW and focused on everything from fishing to cooking through to adventures and even snow sports.

'Families often talk to me about the difficulties they face keeping kids active - particularly in the digital age which sees many young people glued to their electronic devices," Mr Ayres said.
'One affordable and fun way parents can make a difference is to get their children and teens along to a school holiday camp.

'Many camps are day-only if your child is nervous about spending the night, whilst others provide the full camp experience including high ropes, canoeing, rock-climbing and sing-alongs around the campfire at night."

Sport and Recreation school holiday camp packages include all activities, accommodation, nutritious meals and 24-hour supervision. Supervised transport is also available to and from most camps.

Winter kids' camps run from 28th of June–11th of July 2014 for children and young people aged 7 to 16.

Mr Ayres said school holiday camps give children and young people the opportunity to take on new challenges and adventures in a safe and supervised environment.

'We all know the exhilaration of trying something new for the first time and succeeding, so not only do children have fun, they grow in confidence as a result of the experience," he said.
Bookings are now open.
