NightFest lights up Canberra's skies

Floriade, Australia's premier celebration of spring, returns in 2016 and brings with it five spectacular nights of illumination for NightFest. 

If one million flowers weren't impressive enough, Floriade's after-dark experience will light up the night skies from 28^th September to 2^nd October as the sun sets on Commonwealth Park.  The nocturnal extravaganza will transport visitors into an illuminated wonderland bursting with outdoor lighting design and production, as curated and constructed by the expert team at Mandylights. Promising an impressive display for the 2016 event, Mandylights has designed a parkland-full of awe inspiring lighting installations which will excite and delight festival revellers of all ages.

NightFest will deliver a fantastic line-up of comedy, live music and roving entertainment to enthral those exploring the park. Headlining the acts, internationally renowned, Aussie favourite, Jimeoin will take to the stage on 1^st-2^nd October as Becky Lucas, Kate Burch, Nick Cody and The Stevenson Experience also join the bill on various dates to ensure the masses are ROFL at their sharp punch lines and witty banter. Duck Duck Ghost will be serving up a unique blend of danceable indie rock - mixing indie pop hooks and heavy Foals-esque guitars, while East Row Rabble will deliver a slick mix of funk, ska, blues and soul, with heavenly horn lines that will get your booty shakin'.

Finally, complementing the lighting designs and entertainment, NightFest will also boast bustling night markets fresh with local food producers, beer brewers, cider and wine makers and much more. Visitors will be able to taste the produce while getting up close and personal with the makers to hear how they mastered their craft.
