New Trends Emerge for Fitness with Kinect for Xbox 360

Health and fitness are at the top of the New Year's resolution list for many people and a new fitness trend is emerging where you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home.

According to a national survey commissioned by Xbox, one in three Australians surveyed said they prefer to exercise at home and 61% have played a fitness game on a home entertainment gaming console.

Getting started can be the hardest part, but gaming consoles like Kinect for Xbox 360 offer full body fitness experiences, proving that kick starting your fitness regime can be as simple as turning on the Xbox.

With an overwhelming 92 per cent of Australian households surveyed owning gaming consoles there is ample opportunity for people to get up off the couch and get active.

"Kinect for Xbox 360 is the only controller-free gaming console, providing a full body fitness experience, meaning you can do anything from cross-training and fitness to dance and sports," said Kimberley Francis, Head of Xbox Marketing, Microsoft Australia.

"No mats, no balance boards or controllers. Whether you want to meet fitness goals or simply break a sweat, get a jump start on your New Year's resolutions with games like Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012, Dance Central 2 and Kinect Sports: Season Two."

"With the help of built-in calorie counters, you can now track your progress while working towards those fitness goals and participating in activities like boot camp, tennis and dance-offs with friends," added Francis.

Now there is no excuse for delaying that New Year's resolution to get fit with great options available right in the living room.
