The Unicorn Foundation is asking Australians to flash some leg in a pair of fishnets to raise awareness for neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) and donate at Everydayhero.com.au/event/netsfornetsday.

There is a huge lack of awareness about NETs, both within the medical profession and the wider public, although there are 8,000 known cases in Australia and another 1,500 patients expected to be diagnosed this year (more than Ovarian Cancer), The biggest problem is that NETs is commonly misdiagnosed – in some cases up to seven years - with the symptoms very similar to that of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. NETs is also quite topical due to the anniversary of Steve Jobs' death from the same disease.
