There is clearly something about NCIS because even in its eighth season it continues to be the US's number one scripted series and a rating monster around the world. Hot on the heels of its TV run, season 8 comes to DVD for the first time in a 6-disc featuring all 24 explosive episodes.

At the end of season 7, Gibbs was in Mexico at the mercy of drug lord Paloma Reynosa, who believes that Gibbs was the US Special Forces sniper who shot her father and who is now determined to exact her revenge. Season 8 opens with the NCIS team at the heart of Paloma's vendetta and Gibb's father once again in the line of fire.

Also in Season 8, the NCI team are forced to partner up with the FBI when a female bomb tech is linked to a murder; Gibbs asked Tony's father to join them on a murder case and the team undergo mandatory psych evaluations that reveals some interesting personal issues, though none as interesting as the doctor performing the tests.
