National Op Shop Week

National Op Shop Week is taking place from August 23rd - 30th. Now in its fourth year, the campaign slogan for 2015 is 'Op Till You Drop!'.

'Charity op shops play a key role in delivering community services across Australia" said Jon Dee, the Founder of National Op Shop Week. 'Indeed, many Australians rely on the support and assistance provided by charity op shops."

'That's why we want everyone to -Op Till You Drop!'. We need people to donate good quality clothing and other goods to their local charity op shops and we need people to purchase them so that money can be raised to fund these vital services."

The event is also asking people to think about what they include in their donation bag.

The rule of thumb is to not donate anything you wouldn't be happy to give to a friend. Broken appliances and crockery, single shoes, socks or gloves and stained or torn clothing should not be donated. If you're not sure, it's best to call ahead.
