The annual event is easy to celebrate with neighbours - simply have a chat over the fence, make time for a cuppa, lend a helping hand in the garden or organise your own street party. Neighbour Day highlights the benefits that come from being connected with your neighbours such as an
increased sense of security, developing new friendships and meeting like- minded people.

The event supports Council's Living in Brisbane 2026 vision to grow strong, welcoming, caring and diverse communities living in a variety of friendly, safe, walkable neighbourhoods.

Council invites people aged 18 and under to enter the 'Stories from my street' competition to win some great prizes.

The competition asks young people to enter their best story, movie, photos, poem or other creative project to share what they love about their neighbourhood, street or share house.
