Musto

Distinctive men's and women's marine lifestyle label Musto has forged a new direction with the launch of its highly sought-after Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.

Targeting a more style-savvy audience than the previous seasons, the new range is Musto's most versatile lifestyle collection yet, offering everything from city smart pea coats to technical all-weather jackets. Drawing influence from Musto's strong nautical heritage, the range relies heavily on coastal silhouettes with new graphics based around technical yacht drawings that- when added with twill patches and embroideries - clearly embody the signature of the season.

Musto's design team has worked hard at adding more diversity into its menswear offering with its shirt program this season offering three styles: slim fit, regular fit and classic fir across stripes, checks and plains. Shirts new boast a distinctive Musto indentify throughout with innovative and contemporary detailing including tick stitching on pockets, contrast cuff and collar detailing and clever use of signature Musto boat logo on all shirt tails an gussets.

Also on offer from a male perspective is lightweight knitwear in soft cotton cashmere blends, winter coats- some with duck down and feather insulation to keep away the winter chill- as well as Musto's timeless sweats and fleeces constructed from its reliable Polartec® fabrications.

For women this season the news is just as good. The waterproof mac is shaping up as the key hit of the season and one that when teamed with the Breton boat neck jumper and straight leg jeans, completes a statement outfit. A prime example of Musto's technical expertise, the garment is fully taped and includes light quilted wadding in the lining fro additional warmth. Other key pieces for the fairer sex include soft relaxed shirting (garment washed) in checks and stripes; soft brush backed fleeces in both zipped and hoodie styles; long-sleeved Henley tees with scoop necks in stripes and plains and fine gauge cotton cashmere knits in both scoop and v-neck styles. For traditional followers Musto has also included a range of updated knits and rugbys, restyled fro the new season.

Recommended retail price points from the range- available from leading boutiques and chandleries across Australia and New Zealand- start at $99 for polos, $149 for shirts and rugbys and around $400 for jackets.

Musto Digs Deep for Country
Celebrated country brand Musto has proven itself a force to be reckoned with among the women's apparel sector following the release of its much-anticipated Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.

Targeting a broader female audience than in past seasons, the new range places increased emphasis on trimmings and embellishments to help Musto cement its position as the brand of choice among Australasia's youthful equestrian set. Appropriately titled Signature, Musto's Autumn/Winter 2011 technical and lifestyle collection feature a host of new styles and accessories with last winter's muted styles giving way to an explosion of colour courtesy of a palette based around geranium, purple, dolphin and oxide.

Drawing inspiration from military-style insignias, Musto Country perennial favourites the polo, rugby, hoodie, shirt and micro-fleece styles have had their fabrications reworked to reflect the brand's more contemporary positioning. This has resulted in many items not only presenting a more flattering fit but also boasting renewed appeal through the use of rosette-style corsages and gusset detailing.

Not to be outshone Musto Country's most enduring technical product, the combination jacket, has been redressed in insulated quilting to better reflect the fashionable yet functional element relied upon by the brand's loyal followers. On an accessories from the tweed tote in grey and merlot with a complementary tweed mini shoulder bag with leather trim and the machine-washable signature strip scarf- with matching beanie, gloves and socks- are sure to prove a hit with women both in and out of the arena.

Following the issuing of two Royal Warrants in recognition of its service to the UK Royal household, Musto Country has chosen to mark the season with the release of its first capsule collection with brand ambassador Zara Phillips. Aiming to bridge the gap between off-field elegance and innovative ergonomic sports styling, the accomplished horsewoman's range includes a collection of eight styles including training and soft shell jackets, gilets, sweats and long-sleeved technical tees. Sizes for Musto Country's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection range from 8 to 18 with polos starting at RRP $79 and rugbys averaging around $130.

Musto Shooting Range Right on Target
Shooting label Musto has brought in the big design guns this Autumn/Winter 2011 season in an attempt to consolidate its position as the world's most adaptable outdoor apparel brand.

Seeking to defy conventional consumer perception, Musto Shooting has employed a host of new initiatives aimed to broaden the way Musto products can be used both in and outside the traditional country sports spectrum. The changes include expanding the range to incorporate new styles as well as introducing a new fabrication to the collection- a lightweight machine washable tweed both of which naturally embrace the Musto DNA.

The behind-the-scenes changes have resulted in a range featuring high-performance functional garments that are not only waterproof, breathable and packed full of features but also boast all the benefits- such as gun mounting- that modern technology and design provide.

Key to Musto's technical offering is the use of the patented d30 fabrication used extensively in the clay shooting vests. Flexible and free flowing, the molecules in the shoulder patch reinforcement lock together on impact, absorbing energy and providing superior protection from recoiling firearm.

From an accessories front, key to this year's offering is the clay shooting gunslip which has a padded carry handle and innovative folded constructions; and Musto's unique range of clay shooting gloves feature suede palm grips on trigger hand and available as both left and right handed options.

Sold in moss, wheat, hurricane and navy styles, available sizes include S to XLL for men and 8 to 18 for women, the collection features RRP of $249 for a cotton vest through to $389 for a lightweight clay shooting jacket.

Established in 1965 by British Olympic sailing medalist Keith Musto, the Musto brand has revolutionised technical outdoor clothing. It is now ensconced as the world's No.1 technical sailing and country brand, offering high-spec technical quality, unique dedication to detailing and an authenticity of British design and engineering.
