Community Safety Day
10:00am – 4:30pm, Tuesday 2 October
Come along to Scienceworks for live demonstrations from Melbourne Fire Brigade and Country Fire Brigade.
Check out police vehicles, rescue vessels and meet representatives from Australian Federal Police, Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, CFA, Metro Trains, MFB, Search and Rescue Dogs Australia, State Emergency Service, St John Ambulance, VicRoads, Victoria Police and Victoria Water Police in this expo-style extravaganza.
Kids FREE, adults $12 (standard museum entry)

 

Total Lunar Eclipse

Melbourne Planetarium invites you to an exclusive evening with the Moon for October's total lunar eclipse.
Wine in hand, watch the Earth's shadow engulf the Moon and marvel at the vivid reminder that we are part of a much larger Universe.

Deep Oceans

Dive in and uncover the secrets of the world's largest habitat in this new Scienceworks exhibition.
From the Vampire Squid and Dragonfish to the Sea Mouse, Fangtooth and Squat Lobster, this hands-on exhibition shows you all the weird and wonderful animals that make their homes 4000 metres below the ocean's surface.
$6 adult, $5 concession and $4.50 children plus museum entry

We have watched the stars for thousands of years but how did we discover what they are?
The same stars we see shining in the night sky have inspired curiosity and wonder across all cultures and civilizations.
Experience the life and death of a star and find out how they work in this Melbourne Planetarium produced show. Narrated by Sigrid Thornton.
