June 21st is a solstice - a turning point - and each year the Australian and international motor neurone disease community undertake a range of activities to express their hope that this day will be a turning point in the search for the cause, treatments and a cure for this devastating disease.
Motor neurone disease (MND) leaves an active mind trapped in a motionless body. One by one, people with MND lose the ability to walk, talk, swallow... and to hug. This reality is faced by 1,400 Australians.
