As she glanced over at the urn, a smile touched her lips as memories of hot summer afternoons listening to the rumble of thunder on Gran's back verandah flooded her mind... Tomorrow she would begin searching for the answers she needed. Someone here was bound to know where the wishing tree was located, and maybe after she had fulfilled her grandmother's final request her heavy heart would feel a little lighter.
When Sarah Murphy returns to Australia, it's a welcome break from her high-powered London life. And when she find out that her grandmother's dying wish is for her ashes to be scattered under the boughs of the 'wishing tree' on the banks of the Negallan River, she is determined to find it and do just that.
While searching for the wishing tree, Sarah stays in the small township of Negallan. Finding herself charmed by the town now that she finally has some time to relax and unwind, she discovers that there is time to be drawn to a handsome local farmer, and time to find herself making some powerful enemies as her enquiries about her grandmother are causing disquiet within the powerful local Morgan family.
Will the Morgans prevent Sarah from discovering the truth about her grandmother? And should she risk her glittering career in the UK for a simpler existence in the country, and the possibility of true love?

Question: What inspired you to write Morgan's Law?
Karly Lane: We were actually on a trip back from central QLD and had taken a different way home. Because we'd never been through some of these little towns before, I was busy looking out the car window and the thought just popped into my head- 'what if someone in your family died and in their will they asked to be returned to a small town in the middle of nowhere that no one in the family had ever heard of before?' I grabbed whatever I could find to write on and began to scribble down the outline for each chapter and had all my characters named- I couldn't wait to get home to start writing it on the computer!
Question: How much of your inspiration comes from real life and real people?
