A new global campaign, Malaysia Kitchen Australia, will come to life on Wednesday 16 February when the State Theatre Laneway in Sydney's CBD is transformed into a contemporary interpretation of a Malaysian hawker market.

For the first time in Australia, Sydney-siders can experience a range of authentic Malaysian dishes including Beef Rendang (Malay spiced coconut beef), Roti (flaky bread with delicious curry sauce) and Laksa (noodle soup) from some of Sydney's finest Malaysian restaurants.

Restaurants participating include Mamak, Chinta Ria, Sambal, Jackie M and Jimmy's Recipe.

Not just a culinary delight, the unique dining experience will be a visual masterpiece; dressed with a canopy of coloured lanterns, wall collages and light installations of Malaysian imagery, to reflect the chefs' work.

Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to win a foodie escape in Malaysia thanks to Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Airlines.
