Magdalena Duma is fast becoming the brand for women desiring 100% locally produced clothes that are unique, yet classic; high-quality and affordable. The label is a reaction against the stagnate Australian fashion scene more interested in perpetually reproducing last season's trends than investing creativity in their designs.

Designer Magdalena and her friend-cum-business partner Tania made a pact - built on 10 years of friendship - to offer Australian women interesting, affordable and 100% Australian produced collections. This was in 2008, and after a year of selling their wares at Glebe and Bondi markets, the pair realised that their customers were no longer satisfied buying only on the weekend. Undeterred by a lack of funds and throwing the proverbial 'caution to the wind', Magdalena and Tania's boutique was born.

Producing only limited quantities of all pieces, the Magdalena Duma experience promises to be unique and individual from the very first moment. Magdalena and Tania are committed to the experience of fashion, rather than focused solely on the final sale. The pair understand that their boutique is a fashion Mecca and an opportunity to escape the clamour of Sydney, rather than another common drab and ubiquitous chain-store. Entering their flagship store, you are truly entering Magdalena and Tania's world, their private space intentionally extended to accommodate their customers.

Inspiration for the Magdalena Duma winter collection was Magdalena's recent trip to her homeland Poland. Inspired by traditional mountain folk costumes, Magdalena appropriated the folk motifs into a modern collection suited to the contemporary Australian woman.

Magdalena and Tania are leaders, not followers, forging new trends and producing collections which are continually inspiring a somewhat uninspired Australian fashion milieu. Each Magdalena Duma collection is unique and different from the previous, the theme of a strong and empowered woman the only constant flowing from one collection to the next.
