Sally Warhaft – broadcaster, former Monthly editor and indomitable host of The Wheeler Centre's Fifth Estate event series brings her distinctive brand of political and cultural savvy to M.A.D.E. Sally will talk about her edited collection, Well May We Say: The Speeches that Made Australia. Sally has a Phd in Anthropology and did her fieldwork in Mumbai, India, living by the seashore with the local fishing community. She is currently working on a television documentary about protest movements and resistance in Australia, and on her next book.

M.A.D.E is delighted to host a special exhibition on-site in August - showcasing the work of the soon-to-be-released cartoon collection 'Dirt Files: A Decade of the Best Australian Political Cartoons'.
Bookings essential. Tickets are $10 which includes free entry to the museum.

M.A.D.E joins the Fringe Festival of the 2013 Ballarat International Foto Biennale, featuring the work of two inspirational Australian photographers. Jessica Tilley, of Sydney, looks at 'Myanmar (Burma) - Freedom (Repression)' as Myanmar (Burma) have become recognised as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world. While Rebecca Hosking of Surf Coast Victoria looks at 'Resilience' an exhibition that celebrates the culture diversity, strength and contributions women make to their community.
