Where better to spend the summer school holidays than at The Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (M.A.D.E) in Ballarat, enjoying the museum's FREE school holiday program, M.A.D.E FOR FUN.
The summer M.A.D.E FOR FUN program will run from Monday 22nd December, 2014 until Friday 23rd January, 2014 and will include three activities: a Discovery Worksheet, a M.A.D.E Memento and the Beanbag Garden.
The school holiday program is free on entry to M.A.D.E. Family passes to M.A.D.E are only $35 (Ballarat locals are free) and Ballarat is a short and exciting train ride for children from Melbourne.
M.A.D.E school holiday activities are for children aged 4 to 12 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Discovery Worksheet
Upon arrival at M.A.D.E, children can collect a specially designed Discovery Worksheet.
It guides them through the exhibition and challenges them to find particular pictures and objects on display.
M.A.D.E Memento
To mark their visit, children are invited to take a photo of themselves against key locations within M.A.D.E and its surrounds. They're given a gold mining, stockade or democracy themed template to take-home and decorate, which becomes a picture frame for their photo once complete.
Beanbag Garden
Kids can enjoy a picnic, cool drink or a rest in Saltbush Kitchen's colourful beanbag garden. They can relax beneath the shade umbrellas or burn off some energy playing M.A.D.E's quoits, croquet and boule garden games.
