LUSH Cosmetics #BringThemHere

In April 2016, the Supreme Court of Papua New Guinea ruled that detaining people seeking asylum in Australia's Manus Island camp is illegal. The Papua New Guinea Prime Minister announced that the camp will be closed.

What now? Legally, there are a few ways forward. Morally, there is one – bring people to safety in Australia.

From 22nd September to 5th October, LUSH Cosmetics has partnered with GetUp! to share the unseen stories of men who have been held in illegal and indefinite detention for over three years on Manus Island, while calling on the government to allow the men be brought to safety in Australia to rebuild their lives.

The #BringThemHere campaign was launched by GetUp! and the Human Rights Law Centre. LUSH Cosmetics is rolling out the #BringThemHere campaign through all 30 stores nationwide to start conversations with customers to educate and galvanise support for people seeking asylum.

From 22nd September to 5th October, LUSH Cosmetics is selling Hands of Friendship Soap instores nationwide and online www.lush.com.au All sales (exc GST) will be donated to GetUp! and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre to continue advocating for the rights of people seeking asylum.
