Eric Bishop is a postman on the verge of mental breakdown. His wife has left him, his stepsons are out of control and his house is in a state of chaos. His workmates are worried as he appears to be getting worse. In an attempt to regain his happiness, Eric turns to his idol for guidance: a philosopher and football genius, Eric Cantona. Eric soon realises his idol may be just as complicated as he.

What results is a series of comical and inspiring events as the Eric the postman starts to piece his life back together and attempt to win back the love that got away.
