Listen Up Philip

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) will screen Listen Up Philip  (2014), a black comedy about a misanthropic novelist directed by bourgeoning American talent, Alex Ross Perry from 2 April to 26 April 2015.

Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2014 Locarno International Film Festival, Listen Up Philip stars indie darling, Jason Schwartzman (Bored to Death, Rushmore), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, The One I love), Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad, Big Eyes) and Jonathan Pryce (The Salvation, Glengarry Glen Ross).

Philip (Schwartzman) lives in New York with his girlfriend Ashley (Moss). On the eve of facing a grave review of his second novel in the New York Times , Philip arrogantly informs his publisher that he'll be forgoing his national publicity tour to let his work -speak for itself'. When he is invited to spend the summer writing at the country house of his literary idol, Ike Zimmerman (Pryce), he abruptly leaves Ashley. When the action then relocates to an upstate liberal arts college, Josephine de La Baume fills the screen with an effortless French chic.
