It's the leading night for Life Education Australia, Australia's leading non-government charity providing health education and drug and alcohol prevention education, to demonstrate thanks and appreciation for their sponsors, their staffers and their army of volunteers who bring the Life Education program to life for three quarters of a million Australian school children annually.

The evening's entertainment centrepiece will be performances by Mark Vincent, the fifteen-year-old winner of Australia's Got Talent, whose very first Sony CD is being released just days before the Gold Harold Awards, and Australia's Got Talent runner-up twelve-year-old Jal Joshua. It is the only arena in which these two boys will bring their award winning talent together and perform.

Four or five nominees in each of ten categories will be honoured on the night of the Gold Harold awards, but only one winner gets to take home the Gold Harold Statue. Some of the evening's nominees include Ita Buttrose, Melissa Doyle, Jimmy Barnes, Rachel Ward, Col Joye, Ian 'Macca' McNamara, Para Olympian Louise Sauvage and cricketer Steve Waugh.

Corporate nominees include Crazy John's, BlueScope Steel, law firm Allens Arthur Robinson, Wesfarmers, Kmart and Ernst and Young.

Comedian Paul Martell hosts the evening and appearing will be Miss World Australia, the John Pickworth Orchestra, dance group Teamwork and dance troupe P.A.C. Station.

In its thirty years, Life Education and its mascot, giraffe Healthy Harold, have met more than four million Aussie youngsters. The Gold Harold Awards are a way to recognise those that have worked tirelessly to ensure Life Education's success and others who have devoted so much of their time and energy to the healthy development of children.

Other activities on the night include a live auction, silent auction and raffle draw, all aimed at raising money for Life Education Australia's valuable work.
