Kryal Castle, Australia's only medieval adventure park, will thrill visitors with the action and excitement of legendary 12th Century outlaw, Robin Hood, these school holidays. With a jam-packed program of themed events and activities for all the family, the Adventures of Robin at Kryal Castle will give a snapshot of the action packed adventures of the famed bandit who, with the help of his merry men, robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. Kryal Castle, winner of the Tourist Attraction category at the 2015 Victorian Tourism Awards, has planned a daily program of activities which will run throughout the Easter School Holidays (from Saturday 26th March until Sunday 10th April, 2016).

 

Families can experience a taste of what life was like for medieval outlaw, Robin Hood, with a series of entertaining and educational activities including lively re-enacted battles, horseback jousting duels, archery showdowns and medieval pantomimes. Located outside Ballarat and just over an hours' drive from Melbourne, Kryal Castle is a perfect day trip for the whole family these school holidays.

 

The daily schedule of live performances in the Main Arena and around the Castle includes:

 

11am – LIVE PERFORMANCE: A Very Merry Skirmish – Robin has returned to Nottingham to find the townspeople in peril under the charge of the evil Sheriff. A band of outlaws stand ready to battle any that approach. Will Robin find friend or foe in this encounter?

 

11:30am – DEMONSTRATION: The Mounted Skill at Arms – The Kingdom's knights display their incredible bravery and skill to the people of Nottingham. Even the Sheriff himself has come to witness their feats, along with the beautiful Maid Marion. Find out what tricks Robin and his fellow knights have up their sleeves to fool the infamous Sheriff!

 

12noon – LIVE PERFORMANCE: A Match Made in Heaven? - He can wield a bow and arrow like no other, his talents with a sword won him a place beside the King at war, but can he woo a fair maiden? Little John does his best to help him, but Robin Hood seems to have lost his ability to string a sentence together!

 

12:30pm – DEMONSTRATION: The Archery Contest – The Sheriff of Nottingham has called for an archery contest to find the finest archer in all of Nottingham. Although some suspect he has an ulterior motive…

 

1:30pm – LIVE PERFORMANCE: The Championship Joust – Two Knights on horseback will battle it out on the castle arena just as Robin Hood would have in the 12th Century.

 

2pm – LIVE PERFORMANCE: The Tale of Bobbin Bood – Robin, Maid Marion and Little John have decided to show the Sheriff of Nottingham the error of his ways. This captivating live pantomime tells the story of Robin's life in Nottingham – with a few twists along the way…!

 

What:  The Adventures of Robin; a captivating series of themed school holiday performances and activities celebrating of the legendary medieval outlaw, Robin Hood.

When: Kryal Castle is open every day from 10am – 4pm during the Easter school holidays (with the exception of Good Friday, 25th March 2016). The Adventures of Robin Hood school holiday program at Kryal Castle runs from Saturday, March 26th – Sunday, April 10th, 2016. Kryal Castle is CLOSED on Good Friday, 25th March 2016.

How: Entry into Kryal Castle costs $31 for adults, $19 for children aged 4 – 16 years and $25 for concession card holders. Family tickets cost $89 (or two adults and up to three children) and children 4 years and under are admitted free. The entry fee includes most shows, attractions and activities.
