Lyle (Karl Davies) is left in charge of the business while Peter (Stephen Fry) is away in Cambridge at the invitation of an old friend, Barkway. Simon (Dominic Mafham) decides to accompany him. Peter thinks he is just giving a speech, but Barkway has ulterior motives. A colleague of his has died overseas and some of her research has been stolen.
