This unique look at the origins of one of the greatest legends ever told stars Keira Knightley (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM), Clive Owen (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) and Joel Edgerton (TV's The Secret Life of Us, NED KELLY).

Written by David Franzoni (GLADIATOR), with score by Academy Award®-Winning Composer, Hans Zimmer (GLADIATOR, BLACK HAWK DOWN), Bruckheimer's legend of King Arthur is told in a big budget production, of epic scope, action-adventure and romance!

Clive Owen is 'Artorius' or Arthur, the hero of Roman and British parentage. Like his loyal Knights, he predicts that chaos and devastation will follow Rome's final withdrawal from Britain. Although, as a dedicated Christian he is desperate to return to Rome to influence the budding religion, his first loyalty is to his pagan Knights. Arthur sees his duty to free them from their servitude to Rome so they may return to their ancestral homeland in Sarmatia.

However, before he can, he must lead his Knights of the Round Table on one last mission, deep into enemy territory. Here, Arthur, Lancelot, Galahad, Bors, Tristan, Dagonet and Gawain are forced to confront their traditional enemy: Merlin and his indigenous guerilla armies.

Disdainfully called 'Woads' by the Knights, the guerillas have been devastated by generations of Roman rule. Now, with Rome gone, and without the help of Arthur and his knights, the invading, barbaric Saxons, threaten their survival.

Under the guidance of the shaman, Merlin and the beautiful and courageous Guinevere (Keira Knightley), Arthur struggles to find the strength to forsake his dreams of returning to Rome to 'become a leader in this land,' and to change the face of history.

Review:
If you think you know the story of King Arthur, Lancelot & Guinevere, think again. King Arthur gives a new perspective to the romantic tale. But keep in mind this is a war movie, and romance is an afterthought. Possibly a more realistic take on the rise of King Arthur and with the exception of Guinevere's unrealistic war outfit.
