Kids in the Park Winter School Holidays

Sydney Olympic Park's gigantic program of school holiday activities – Kids in the Park – is the hottest remedy to beat the winter boredom blues EVERY DAY of the school holidays, from 1-16 July (inclusive).

Chock-full of fun come rain, hail or shine, Kids in the Park winter 2017 features more than 50 activities – including many FREE and good-value options – to inspire creative minds, entertain and keep kids moving!

An Australian-first study by the Murdoch Children's Research Institute has found the way that children spend their time affects their health-related quality of life. The findings reveal that kids who are moderately active and have low screen time have the highest quality of life[1]. For a mentally and physically stimulating school holiday break, Kids in the Park has something for everyone.

NEW to the Kids in the Park program is The Writing Workshop - Poetry: Rhythm & Rhyme which will see kids aged 9-14 explore sophisticated rhythms and Ancient Greek terminology. Run by award-winning writer Bernard Cohen, Poetry: Rhythm & Rhyme will allow creative kids to let their imaginations run wild.

Netball-Captain's Class is a fun NEW activity designed to improve and develop skills for kids aged 6-15 years old. Netball-Captain's Class gives kids the opportunity to be coached by professional netballers and NSW captains, Abbey McCulloch and Paige Hadley.

'As Sports Minister I'm constantly encouraging our kids to stay fit and healthy through physical activity," said NSW Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres.

'The Kids in the Park school holiday program helps deliver just those opportunities, from BMX to acrobatics, swimming to soccer, there's something active for kids of all ages," Minister Ayres said.

Bodies of all ages can be kept actively-warm indoors at Sydney Olympic Park's Splasher's Water Playground, where it is always a comfortable 26 degrees. Furthermore, kids are bound to enjoy the new, 45-metre tubular water slide. To make a whole day of fun, the Aquatic Centre is also home to the Urban Jungle Adventure Course, which is a thrilling high ropes course set up in the trees at the back of the Aquatic Centre. The cost of the Urban Jungle Adventure Park includes entry to the indoor pools and facilities.

Fizzics Education is back this winter and set to cause a stir with six hands-on and exciting activities that kids can enjoy indoors out of the cold. With activities like Gross and Gory Science, where kids explore all things creepy and gooey to activities like Lego Robotics, which teaches kids how to program robots using motors and sensors, learning doesn't need to be a bore.

For FREE activities to get the kids away from the television and digital devices, Kids in the Park has activities to delight the whole family without breaking the bank. Outdoorsy folk can enjoy cycling up to 35km of Bike Trails, or take the challenge with friends on The Amazing Chase. Another popular and FREE activity for families is Disc Golf, which combines the concept of golf with the technique of frisbee to create a fun game for all ages and abilities.

Sporty kids can get involved in all sorts of indoor sports such as Tennis World Junior Holiday Camps, AC Milan Soccer School Holiday Camp, Gym Sports, Basketball: MyHoops, Football – Wanderers in the Park and much more.

In operation since 2004, Kids in the Park makes Sydney Olympic Park the official home of the BIGGEST range of school holiday activities of any single location in New South Wales.
