Our Katharine Hepburn Season of movies has so far included The African Queen, Mary of Scotland, and Little Minister. This week ABC2 presents Spitfire.

This 1934 film stars Hepburn as a backwoods girl named Trigger Hicks. Barely literate, proud and hot-tempered, Trigger's devout belief in faith healing creates consternation in her fellow villagers, who view her belief as witchcraft.

But Trigger is intriguing to two engineers, John Stafford (Robert Young) and George Fleetwood (Ralph Bellamy), who arrive to build a dam in the mountains and are both attracted to her.
