Just Right

The king finds the perfect soft, red cloth to make the princess a cloak for Christmas. Once the cloak is made, the leftover cloth is put outside where, in turn, it is found by someone and made into a different present. Each gift gets smaller and smaller as the leftover cloth diminishes - but it's still just right - until the last teeny bit of cloth is used to make a scarf for the smallest mouse to keep him warm from the winter chill.

Birdie Black is the very brilliant author of Just Right. Born, oooh, years ago, she read lots of children's books as a child, and didn't really ever stop. As well as writing the odd book, she runs a small, independent children's publishing company...Oh, all right: it's Kate Wilson, the managing director of Nosy Crow. She lives in London.

Rosalind Beardshaw has illustrated many picture books for children including Mole's in Love written by David Bedford, A Tale of Two Goats by Tom Barber and Lulu Loves the Library by Anna McQuinn. She has also illustrated a couple of her own stories; Grandma's Beach and Grandpa's Surprise. She lives in York.
