Coming off of 6 Tony nominations including "Best Play Revival," we would love to arrange an interview with you and accomplished actor, singer, dancer and professor Jesmille Darbouze to discuss her hit play A Doll's House, currently showing at the illustrious Hudson Theatre in NYC. Jesmille is available to discuss the undeniable success of her revival play, representation in the Broadway/theatre world as a proud Afro-Latina woman, the imposter syndrome she sometimes feels as a minority in the industry as well as her career overall.
Jesmille stars alongside Academy Award® winner Jessica Chastain in the thrilling reinvention of Ibsen's A Doll's House. Directed by Tony® nominee Jamie Lloyd, one of contemporary theater's most revolutionary auteurs, and adapted by acclaimed playwright Amy Herzog, this new production makes freshly relevant a story that shocked audiences and brought forth a new era of theater. Written in 1879 by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, "A Doll's House" is a three-act play about a housewife who becomes disillusioned and dissatisfied with her condescending husband. In the 2023 revival, Nora Helmer, a childlike wife and mother accustomed to an existence built around her husband Torvald, comes to confront the truth of her marriage. A Doll's House has so far received mostly positive reviews and described as a "Compelling, surgically precise revival" by the NYT, Bloomberg used the word "transcendent" to describe their experience, while Variety praised the production as "a Broadway staging that brings sparkling clarity to a classic."
