Born in Chicago, IL, Alix always felt a passion towards content creation. After spending a summer working in fashion in Los Angeles, she knew she was in the right place. Her side hustle eventually led to an ever-growing passion for photography and creative direction. Jami decided to take the leap and move to Los Angeles, where she has resided for 6 years. She created her own fashion and lifestyle blog where she shares her fashion inspirations, beauty products reviews, home decor, and her travel adventures. Along with her blog, she has since discovered her love for acting, has just been cast in her first major role in the series "Boo, B****" on Netflix. Her dynamic and goofy personality is seen on her YouTube channel, where she films vlogs of her fun activities and outings.
In addition to her creative skills, Jami is passionate about showing others that they are beautiful despite their inner insecurities. The young actress has fought her own internal demons after being diagnosed with scoliosis, having spinal fusion, and having to wear a back brace for 3.5 years after the surgery. She took her diagnosis in stride and continued to persevere and do what she loves.
Jami's biggest charitable focus is helping dogs in need. She has always loved dogs, and has two of her own, named Charlie and Luna who are frequently featured on her Instagram. She plans on devoting time to help with dog rescues and truly be hands on.
Question: Can you tell us about your role in Boo B****?
Jami Alix: I play Lea who can be described as the suck-up sidekick to the most popular girl in school. Lea is type A, a little bit manic and will do everything in her power to hang with the cool kids. She's definitely a very heightened character, which was almost a little too easy to tap into for me.
Question: Did you always want to pursue a career in the entertainment industry?
Jami Alix: I have loved being in front of the camera since I was a little girl, so that's a strong yes from me.
Question: How has moving to LA influenced your career?
Jami Alix: Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, I honestly thought I was destined to sit in an office for 9 hours a day. It wasn't until I moved to LA that I realized the 9-5 lifestyle was actually more of an outlier, and I would be crazy not to chase my dreams of playing dress up and emoting all day long.
